Thornley Woodland Centre to Beamish

A day of pleasant walking by streams and through mature woodland with Causey Arch as the main attraction.  Pass Beamish Hall and the edge of Beamish Museum before another woodland path leads to the end of the walk at the famous Shepherd and Shepherdess Inn.

Route Updates

Direction 1: ...along the edge of a field before taking a sunken lane down to a road.

Direction 5: Turn R at the corner then sharp L to enter a wood. Ignore the broad track ahead and immediately bear R onto a footpath through the wood. Continue on this path, gradually losing height and curving to the L. Eventually a footbridge over Bobgins Burn leads onto a minor road.

How Do I Get There?

To the start: 
Bus 45, 45E, 46, 47 from Eldon Square bus station, Newcastle.

Bus 28 or 28A from Beamish.
